The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has approved the use of Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5-11 years after the company applied to be accredited by the authority.

The SFDA’s decision is based on data that the company presented and showed that the vaccine had met all regulatory requirements. Clinical studies and scientific reports indicated that the vaccine is safe for this age category.

The SFDA approved the Pfizer vaccine in Saudi Arabia on December 10, 2020, after the company applied to register it.
