An official from the Saudi Ministry of Defense stated Friday that “based on the mutual cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the US, and their desire to enhance everything that could preserve the security of the region and its stability... Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz gave his approval to host American forces.”

The decision aims "to increase joint cooperation in the defense of regional security and stability and to preserve its peace,” said the official, affirming that the kingdom calls for peace and not war.

It stresses the solid Saudi-US ties and the continuous cooperation between the two countries.

Reliable sources revealed that the kingdom’s hosting of American forces is a continuity of the military cooperation that aims to keep high pressure on Iran and prevent the latter from further escalation.

This decision is a strong-worded message to the Iranian regime that any random attempts to exploit the regional tensions will be faced by force.
