Saudi Arabia Appoints Permanent Representative to IMO

Saudi Arabia appoints a permanent representative to the International Maritime Organization. (SPA)

Saudi Arabia has appointed Lieutenant Commander Isaam Al-Amri as Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Thursday.

Amri presented his credentials to IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim in London.

In a statement to SPA, President of the Public Transport Authority Rumaih Al-Rumaih said that the maritime transport sector receives unlimited support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.

He added that Amri’s appointment reflects the Saudi leadership's keenness to consolidate its leading status in the international community as the Kingdom has been a member of the IMO since 1961.
