Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday 1,912 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths.

The Health Ministry said the total number of cases in the Kingdom have risen to 39,048, while the death toll reached 246.

The Ministry said there were 1,313 new recoveries, bringing the total number of patients who have tested negative for the virus to 11,457.

The Ministry reiterated its call to respect social distancing and avoid large gatherings.

Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said in his daily press briefing that most new cases indicate the infected persons had been in contact with coronavirus patients.

He called for healthy eating habits and drinking plenty of fluids, and stressed the importance of hand washing.

Among the symptoms of the virus are fever, fatigue and loss of appetite, said Abdelali.
