Saudi Ambassador in Egypt Warns against False Hajj Ads

Saudi Arabia warns against fake ads promoting the Hajj pilgrimage. (AFP)

Saudi Arabia warned on Saturday against the spread of fake ads claiming to promote the annual Hajj pilgrimage, but are instead aimed at scamming users, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Osama bin Ahmed Nuqali warned in a statement from Cairo against falling for such scams, which are being promoted on various social networking platforms, such as Facebook, Whatsapp and Twitter.

He stressed that such fake and fraudulent ads work outside the official channels approved by the Saudi Arabian and Egyptian governments.

The envoy therefore called on the people to be diligent of such ads and avoid falling victim to them.
