Saudi Amaala assigned British award-winning architectural design and engineering firm, Foster + Partners, as Architectural Advisors of development.
Amaala project, the base of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is considered among the projects in line with Vision 2030, designed to be the ultra-luxury destination located along Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coastline.
The development of Amaala is being rolled out across three key phases, with completion of the destination ahead of the realization of Vision 2030.
Amaala CEO Nicholas Naples noted that the project will represent a singularly unique experience, one which redefines the ultra-luxury experience in its entirety.
“We are delighted to be partnering with one of the world’s most recognized names in architecture and design to realize our vision.”
There is a natural synergy with Foster + Partners, whose ongoing commitment towards sustainability and green projects is aligned with Amaala’s ethos and commitment to being net carbon neutral from day one of operations, he added.
Amaala covers an area of 3,800 square kilometers and includes more than 2,500 hotel rooms and 800 residential villas, apartments and houses, in addition to 200 luxurious shops, restaurants, and commercial establishments.
It is set in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Nature Reserve across three communities: Triple Bay, the Island, and the Coastal Development, which will represent three different sets of experiences for visitors, with Foster + Partners responsible for innovative and sustainable design solutions.
Amaala aims to reinvent commonly experienced activities into an all-year-round destination based on the untouched nature of the Red Sea, extending the Mediterranean yachting season from October to December.
Through its three communities, Amaala will establish a globally-recognized hub for arts and culture with a focus on contemporary art, as well as the most comprehensive, integrated health, wellness and, sports offering globally.
