Saudi Air Defenses Down 2 Houthi Drones Flown towards Abha

Saudi air defenses downed on Monday night two explosives-laden drones flown by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen towards the Abha region, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

Saudi-led Arab coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said that the first drone was flown towards a residential area in Abha. It was intercepted at 10:37 pm.

The second drone was downed a little over an hour later.

Maliki said that none of the Houthi drones reached their targets, underlining the Kingdom’s right to defend itself.

“We will continue to neutralize the Houthis’ hostile capabilities,” he vowed.

The United Nations Security Council had earlier on Monday condemned the militias for launching attacks against the Kingdom, demanding that the perpetrators be held to account.
