Sauchiehall Street van smash horror as motor flips on side

A driver had a miracle escape after his van flipped in Glasgow City Centre.

The motorist walked away from the smash that happened outside the Ox and Finch on Sunday night.

Police Scotland confirmed officers were called to the scene in Sauchiehall Street at about 6.30pm.

A photo of the aftermath shows the white van on its side resting up against a bent sign outside the restaurant in Finnieston.

Officers said there were no serious injuries and that a man will be subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with an alleged road traffic offence.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Around 6.30 pm on Sunday, 24 January, 2021, police attended a road traffic crash involving a car and a van in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.

“There were no reports of anyone seriously injured.

“A 24-year-old man will be subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with an alleged road traffic offence.”
