Sauchiehall Street incident: Two teenagers seriously injured in early morning attack

Two teenagers have been rushed to hospital after being attacked on Sauchiehall Street.

Emergency services rushed to the scene around 12.25am on Thursday morning following reports of the men being seriously assaulted.

A 19-year-old and 18-year-old man were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious but not life threatening injuries.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

As previously reported by Glasgow Live, an area of the street and part of Newton Street remained cordoned off for investigations.

Detective Inspector Sarah McArthur said: “Around 12.25am on Thursday, 30 July, officers were called to the Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, following reports of two men being seriously assaulted.

"The men, aged 18 and 19, were conveyed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
