Sauchiehall Street is closed to all eastbound traffic due to "falling building debris".
The major road is blocked off at the St Georges Road and Newton Street junction due to the incident.
Glasgow City Council has advised drivers to follow guidance from Police Scotland for futher information and diversions.
A statement from the council reads: "Due to falling building debris, Sauchiehall Street is closed to all eastbound traffic at its junction with St Georges Road/Newton Street.
"Further bulletins will be issued when more information is known."
