Saturday weather: Sunshine is returning

We're set for a sunny, dry and blustery afternoon in Bristol following .

In a stark contrast to the huge thunderstorms which battered the country, the sun will shine across the UK today (Saturday, June 7).

After a rainy and cloudy morning, the sun will appear and the temperature will hover around the 16-degree mark between noon and 7pm, according to the Met Office.

Into the evening, the temperature will of course dip - but it will remain dry.

Elsewhere in the UK, rain is forecast to persist in the northern parts, while elsewhere will see a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers.

East and northeast England might even see some heavy or thundery showers.
