Saturday Night Takeaway sparks outrage as viewers blast 'inappropriate' song played on family show

Saturday Night Takeaway viewers were not impressed with the song at the end of the final episode last night.

The last episode of the series aired on Saturday night, which saw Ant and Dec present live on ITV with a range of famous faces and no shortage of surprises.

As the series came to a close, singer Raye was invited to the stage to perform her song 'Bed' alongside DJs Joel Corry and David Guetta.

However, many people tuning into the ITV show from home felt that the lyrics were "inappropriate" for a primetime family show.

The song included the line: "I got a bed, but I'd rather be in yours."

Viewers took to Twitter to share their opinions, with one person writing: "Two things one inappropriate song for children and two If she’s in my bed where am I going to sleep."

Another added sarcastically: "Yeah really family appropriate song..."

A third person sarcastically tweeted: "Appropriate lyrics for a family show,"

Another fan joked: "My dogs anthem... I've got a bed but I'd rather be in yours tonight."

Other viewers applauded the choice of an 'uplifting' song which had hosts Ant and Dec dancing in the studio.

However, other fans of the show were delighted with the choice of music.

"Brilliant opening from Rae," said one person, while another added: "@raye giving us VOCALS on #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

A third person simply tweeted: “TUNE!!!!!!!!"

Elsewhere on the show, viewers were outraged when hosts Ant and Dec were announced the wrong way round.

Mo Gilligan was the guest announcer for the final episode and said: "First, he was fed up being introduced second, it's Declan Donnelly!"

Sharing the clip on Twitter, the show's official Twitter account wrote: "Congrats Dec you deserve this."

And fans could not get over the switch-up, with one tweeting: "Nah not used to Dec being introduced first #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

While another quipped: "no dec came out first on #SaturdayNightTakeaway that was so wrong."

But a third wrote: "It tickled my brain a bit, to be honest. Deserved it so much!"
