Saturday Night Takeaway's Ant McPartlin 'breaks' rules minutes into show as game takes chaotic turn

Ant McPartlin 'broke 'the rules minutes into this week's Saturday Night Takeaway, blaming the excited viewers who caused live 'chaos' as they rushed to join in a game of Ring My Bell.

Since its debut on the ITV show last year, Ring My Bell has become a big favourite with Takeaway fans. It sees an unsuspecting member of the studio audience having their ring doorbell 'hijacked' by Ant and Dec, who then issue an appeal to any neighbours watching at home to dassh to the front door with an item of their instruction.

After it wasn't part of last week's new series launch, viewers were concerned that Ring My Bell had been axed, so they were left delighted when it returned right near the start of episode two, as Ant and Dec sprung a surprise on numerous fans sitting in the studio.

The game took a turn when, after the Geordie hosts surprised audience member Nicola, they waited with bated breath to see if anyone would turn up at her house, only for a whole host of neighbours to rush across the street, carrying saucepans, the item Ant and Dec had asked for.

After trying to establish who pressed the bell first, Ant admitted: "It's chaos," as the neighbours all started wandering out of shot. They then failed to adhere to the simple taak of saying 'Ring My Bell,' instead all holding up their saucepans.

Realising things were going slightly awry, Ant swiftly changed the competition rules and remarked: "You know what? You can split the money, because you all got there and you've all got saucepans."

After confirming that both Nicola and her quick off the mark neighbours had each won £500, Ant said: "Sort it out amongst yourselves," adding: "I'm not doing that again that though. That was their fault."
