Saturday Night Takeaway fans incredulous as contestant wins £5k Moonpig gift card

Saturday Night Takeaway viewers were left scratching their heads this evening - as a guest won £5,000 to spend at Moonpig.

Viewers took to Twitter to discuss the bizarre scenes, wondering how one person could burn through a hefty £5K at an online card shop.

"Let's see what you've won," Ant said to the guest, tuning into the studio on a video call.

Toothpaste was the first prize she bagged, followed by a year's supply of Jaffa Cakes, a Disney+ subscription, a Parkdean Resorts holiday, a Tui holiday and...£5,000 to spend at Moonpig.

"I think you can buy the entire Moonpig business for £5k," one viewer joked.

Another laughed: "£5k to spend at Moonpig?? That's a lot of birthday cards."

"5 grand on Moonpig, the family are all getting Moonpig cards for the rest of their lives," a third tweeted.

"£5k at Moonpig?" a fourth queried, "Please may I have the cash alternative?"

"What the hell would you spend 5 grand on at Moonpig?" asked a fifth.

Tonight marked the third show since Saturday Night Takeaway's return.

Fans breathed a collective sigh of relief earlier this year when ITV confirmed it would be returning - albeit with Covid-safe measures and the live audience scrapped.

That means the live audience appears in the studio via video calls from their own homes, in the same vein as last year's Britain's Got Talent finals

Harry and Jamie Redknapp have already made an appearance this year, as have Gordon Ramsay and Gary Barlow.
