Saturday Night Takeaway fans 'gutted' as Ant and Dec remind them show is cancelled

Saturday Night Takeaway fans confessed they were "gutted" and some bored, as they tweeted at what would normally be the time the ITV series aired on Saturday.

Instead, all they had was a clip on Twitter from hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly who repeated the fact the latest episode had been dropped for this weekend.

Like Starstruck and Sunday's Dancing On Ice final, ITV has dropped the latest episodes from schedule to make way for the rugby coverage.

Instead of airing at 7pm on Saturday, SNT will return a week from now - with ITV instead airing Six Nations Live coverage, as France take on England.

While some viewers totally forgot about the change to listings and were "gutted" to tune in to something that obviously wasn't Ant and Dec, others knew full well but decided to air their annoyance anyway.

Taking to Twitter, one fan commented: "It's Saturday. It's 7 o'clock - and we are bored in the living room because #SaturdayNightTakeaway isn't on tonight."

Another tweeted: "Awwwww I’m so gutted, miss you @antanddec and love yahs. had a fantastic time in the audience last week - the troublemaker in the corner xxx."

A third added: "Saturday night is crap this week. We need you both!!" as another said: "Missing #SaturdayNightTakeaway already and it’s been three minutes since it was due to start."

A fifth fan simply said: "I'm not happy about it."

Ant and Dec had taken to Twitter with a video from the studio, pretending to announce the line-up of the latest episode before reminding fans there was no show.

Their tweet read: "Just a reminder from us booth that we’re not on your tellies tonight.

"We’re at home watching the rugby, but your #SaturdayNightTakeaway will be back next week with the brilliant @michaelbuble."

Saturday Night Takeaway returns next weekend on ITV.
