Saturday Night Takeaway fans ask why Cat Deeley wasn't social distancing with Ant and Dec

Saturday Night Takeaway fans were delighted to see Ant and Dec reunited with their friend Cat Deeley to revive their SMTV: Live sketch Chums.

Viewers were filled with nostalgia as the trio chatted and laughed together on Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly's Saturday night family entertainment show Saturday Night Takeaway.

Their Saturday morning show SMTV: Live ended in 2003, but the trio were reunited to create a brand new episode of Chums.

Back in the day Chums, starring a stream of celebrity guests each week, was loosely based on the American sitcom Friends.

"Cat Deeley is back with Ant and Dec I’ve just gone back 25 years," cheered one fan on Twitter.

"Ant, Dec and Cat back together makes me happy," said another.

"I absolutely love seeing Ant, Dec and Cat back together! Makes me feel old!" tweeted another.

"The ABSOLUTE JOY of seeing Ant, Dec and Cat together again," said another fan.

"Just screamed like an idiot seeing Ant, Dec and Cat together again!" said another.

"Ant, Dec and Cat on a Saturday just like it used to be!" exclaimed another.

And another fan said: "Nostalgia overload - Ant Dec and Cat!!!!"

But others clocked there was no social distancing between them and asked how the trio were able to stand so close together.

"How come Ant, Dec and Cat aren't social distancing?" asked one.

"Why is there no social distancing with Cat Deeley?" wondered another.

"No social distancing with Cat Deeley then?" asked another SNT fan.

And another wondered: "How can @catdeeley get so close to @antanddec?"

ITV confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that the three presenters formed a work bubble together for the reunion.

Former Byker Grove stars Ant and Dec, who presented I'm A Celebrity ...Get Me Out Of Here! together at the end of last year, previously explained that they take steps to make sure they're Covid-compliant and get tested every four days.

Dec told This Morning that their households are connected and they had formed a 'cohort' so they could continue to work together in close proximity.
