Whigfield gave fans a candid health update earlier today, as she revealed she is undergoing a biopsy amid a health scare.

The Saturday Night singer, 52, took to Instagram to share a snap of herself wearing a protective facemask as she attended her latest medical appointment - telling fans: " Hopefully all this will be over soon."

The singer - real name is Sannie Charlotte Carlson - recently revealed how she was having a series of health tests, including an MRI, in order to try get to the bottom is what is wrong with her health.

Whigfield's health battle comes shortly after the star shared for the first time how she gave birth to a daughter in 2000 in her seventh month of pregnancy, but her child only survived for three days.

"Those who follow me know that i haven't really been feeling 100% lately and been doing various checkups," Whigfield explained to her followers on Instagram as she announced the cancellation.

"Unfortunately I've been booked for an emergency MRI scan tomorrow and because of logistics, it would be impossible to do both."

It appears Whigfield has been struggling with an undiagnosed health issue for quite some time, with the star sharing a snap of herself using a nebuliser on Instagram 15 weeks ago and telling her fans she was 'still sick' and trying to 'get back to my old self'.

The singer has kept a positive attitude throughout her health woes - even poking fun at herself as she appeared to have an EEG to test that detects abnormalities in her brain waves.

The star recently opened up about her heartbreaking experience with baby loss (Newcastle Chronicle)

"Have a great day."

Whigfield, whose 1994 hit Saturday Night sold a total of 1.18million copies in the UK as of 2015, recently opened up in an interview about her experience with baby loss - sharing how her newborn daughter died threes after the star gave birth for the first time in 2000.

"I had a daughter in 2000 but unfortunately, I gave birth in the seventh month, and she didn't survive – she survived only three days," she explained.

"So, after that I just didn't feel like having children. I'm 52 so having children is a bit hard. No, I wouldn't adopt or have IVF – I just started having animals after that.

"I started having dogs and today I'm happy I don't have kids because I see my niece and she's so much work."

Whigfield is currently engaged to long-term partner Finn, after the Italian music producer popped the question last Christmas.
