Satellite launch broker Commercial Space Technologies (CST) has announced its intention to establish a physical presence in Scotland with the hiring of space professional Andrew Paliwoda.
He has worked for several high-profile companies within the industry, leading projects funded by the UK Space Agency and the European Space Agency.
New senior consultant Paliwoda previously was previously head of launch for Alba Orbital and has been working with CST to establish the Scottish office since last summer.
CST, which is headquartered in London, with another office in Moscow, will soon add Glasgow to the list.
“I am honoured to be leading this growth for the company, as the Scottish space industry expanding at a rapid pace,” Paliwoda commented, adding: “there are few places in the world where a space mission can be done in one place, with launch soon on the horizon”.
CST is already involved with the development of Scottish spaceports and has been working to ensure that launch from Scotland is a reality, providing trajectory analysis, business planning, requirements engineering and other services.
CST managing director Alan Webb said that several launches are soon to be happening from Scotland and the new base will help with on-the-ground access.
“Andrew has a strong background and with a physical presence in Scotland we will be better able to offer our long list of services to the space industry.”
CST has a database of more than 700 commercially commissioned studies. The company works with satellite manufacturers, insurers, operators, launch providers, space agencies, local councils and spaceports.
