SAT plans to build youth sports centre

The cabinet approved on Tuesday a project by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) to build a youth sports centre in Bangkok's Huay Kwang district.

Deputy government spokesperson Traisuree Taisaranakul said the SAT will set aside a budget of 33.5 million baht and will rent 1,867 square metres at the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand's (MRTA) Huay Khwang Depot on which to construct the centre.

The rental fee has been agreed at 124,291 per month including VAT, she said.

The agreement does not specify the end of the lease period. However, there is a conditional clause which states the SAT must return the land by a certain period if the MRTA decides it wants to use the land to expand its services and operation, the deputy government spokeswoman added.
