SAS: Who Dares Wins 'to be filmed in extreme cold' in major show shake-up

Next year's series of SAS: Who Dares Wins will be shot in a "sub-zero location" in a major Channel 4 format switch-up, according to a telly insider.

It is rumoured to be the 'toughest series yet' as contestants get 'plunged into freezing temperatures' as they're 'pushed to breaking point'.

The source claims "brutal tasks" include "ice-water plunges, snow treks and endurance challenges" in the brand-new series.

The hotly anticipated celeb series, thought to star former health secretary Matt Hancock, will follow the reported freezing cold climate season.

A TV insider claims that the Channel 4 production bosses want to "switch it up by taking recruits to a country which is very, very cold".

"Just being able to exist in the sub-zero temperatures will be hard enough — never mind taking on the brutal tasks like ice-water plunges, snow treks and endurance challenges.

"There are a number of locations on the table and nothing is yet set in stone," they told The Sun.

Seeming to deny the claims, a Channel 4 spokesperson told The Mirror: "It’s too early to say which brutal course we’ll be taking our future recruits on.

"But in the meantime, 20 new, unsuspecting men and women will be stationed in Vietnam, facing JUNGLE HELL in the next savage series of SAS: Who Dares Wins, starting in January."

Speaking of Matt Hancock's appearance, another insider told The Sun: "Matt impressed Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins producers when he spoke to them and they want him to take part.

"He would be the biggest name to have signed up for the next series and it would be a real coup for the show.

"Matt knows there is a mixed perception of him in the public eye and he thinks going on the show would reveal a different side to himself."

A Channel 4 spokesman previously told The Mirror: "In the best traditions of the SAS, this mission is confidential. However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year.

A spokesman for Mr Hancock told The Mirror: "Matt gets a huge number of offers and is asked to appear on TV shows all the time but he has not signed up to anything."

Former TOWIE star James 'Arg' Argent is also said to have signed up for the new series after losing a whopping 14 stone since having gastric band surgery last year.

The reality star is thought to want to take part in the show in order to "deal with some of the demons" from his past.

"He's decided to sign up because he's in great health now, he's sober, he's doing it to try and deal with some of the demons from his past.

"He'll talk about the mental health aspects of getting clean and sober and losing weight," a source told OK! magazine.
