SAS Who Dares Wins star John Fashanu admits he ‘lost control’ after ‘choking’ Locksmith

SAS Who Dares Wins’ John Fashanu admits ‘I lost control’ after ‘choking’ Rudimental during a challenge.

A game of Murderball saw the ex-Wimbledon player engage in a clash with his fellow recruit, Locksmith, where he appeared to strangle the Rudimental DJ.

Show host Ant Middleton began proceedings by talking about ‘controlled aggression’ before splitting the celebs into two rival teams and involves recruits fighting for possession of a tyre and driving it to the rival team’s goal line - or making sure the others do not succeed.

John refused to give in to the point that he grabbed Locksmith and put him into a headlock before strangling him on the ground before other recruits intervened and separated them.

The former footballer, 57, appeared on Good Morning Britain and admitted that he ‘lost control’ during the challenge.

He told hosts Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh: “Hard man or not hard man, to survive on SAS is something. I never thought we were going to get to that level.

“You have to remember football is a team game but with SAS it’s all about individuals, you are on your own, you get carried away and forget where you are. You lose it, and on that occasion, I lost it.”

Ben admitted the clash made him “uncomfortable” and that John went so far he ended up “choking” his rival.

John said: “We had a bit of backwards and forwards. You are in a competitive mode, you have got to be in a competitive mood. He hit me with the first tackle, very, very hard.

“He’s a strong guy, very strong guy, and I was talking to him at the same time and he was talking back to me, that was what we were supposed not to do.

“We are supposed to be able to keep our own self control. I have got to be honest, at that time, we lost it.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
