SAS Who Dares Wins crisis as star breaks down in tears before flying out to film series

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star Bianca Gascoigne's spot on the endurance show was almost derailed after she was stopped at the airport.

The celebrity version of the programme is being filmed in New Zealand but Bianca almost didn't make it into the country.

Problems with her visa stopped her from flying from Australia to New Zealand and the star was left wiping away tears due to the issue.

According to a source, the 36-year-old glamour model's visa issue stemmed from a past driving charge.

An insider claimed: "Bianca was in tears as she attempted to sort out the issue, which is believed to be linked to a former 'drunk driving charge.'

"After last-minute negotiations, Bianca managed to get her documentation approved and Channel 4 has allowed her a late arrival into quarantine."

Speaking to The Sun, they said she is due to land in New Zealand on Wednesday to join the other stars to film the show.

Mirror contacted her reps for comment.

The new mum, who gave birth in February, is expected to be challenging herself alongside other celebrities as they're put through their paces by former military men Jason Fox, Mark Billingham and Rudy Reyes.

Bianca, whose father is Paul Gascoigne, reportedly signed up for the programme in order to "push herself to her physical and mental limits".

"Bianca has been on a lot of television shows but nothing as challenging as this, and she cannot wait to get started," a source previously said.

"As a former model she knows there are people who will have preconceptions of what she is like."

Meanwhile, the original SAS: Who Dares Wins series was axed after eight years on air.

Channel 4 is putting a focus on the celebrity edition due to the popularity of it.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 told The Sun: "Due to the huge success of Celebrity SAS we have shifted our focus to prioritise this strand. A longer, eight-part series is to commence filming in the summer."

Another spokesperson told Deadline that the series was being "rested" as opposed to being permanently axed.

One source previously said losing the show was a "disturbing sign" for the channel.

"Losing such a big-name show is a disturbing sign for C4 as it faces an uncertain future in a market which will be difficult for even the biggest broadcasters and streaming services.

"Although the show’s celebrity spin-off will continue, losing the civilian version will be worrying given that it’s one of the channel’s best-known brands. The fear now is that it may be a sign of things to come," a TV insider told The Sun.
