SAS: Who Dares Wins turned the brutality up to 11 this evening as they "drown-proofed" the recruits.
Special forces hardman Ant Middleton was left red in the face after Helen Skelton failed - after she'd been ranked among the best of the remaining celebs.
The episode opened with the remaining seven being ranked from "weakest to strongest" - with Helen nearer the stronger end.
But the drown-proofing, in which recruits dunk themselves under a gushing river and have to keep themselves under for as long as possible, was a step too far for Helen.
She failed the task, despite Ant's characteristically foul mouth.
"I ran 80 miles in the Namibian desert," she told before the challenge, "I cycled to the South Pole, I walked a high wire at Battersea Power Station.
"Loads of stuff scares me. I'm just willing to do it even though I'm scared."
"Go Number 10!" Ant yelled as she dunked herself beneath the current, "Get under the f*****g water!
Get under the water, Number 10! Stop f*****g around!"
After Helen emerged, having failed the task, Ant was not happy.
"You've gone from the top of the pile, to the bottom of the pile!" he screamed, inches from her face, "F*****g useless!"
Viewers were stunned at the brutality of the task, one tweeting: "#SASWhoDaresWins 'drown-proofing', even the name of it sounds ridiculously tough."
Another joked: "Drown-proofing sounds an absolute delight."
A third admitted: "The drowning and ice hole tasks there's no way, I wouldn't even have made it this far but still nope no way #SASWhoDaresWins."
