But Tony Bellew refused to listen to his video, slamming the laptop down before covering his ears.
Channel 4 viewers could see contestants' wilting energies as they entered the semi-final of the show.
In what appeared to be a treat, they were allowed to watch video messages from their loved ones.
But Tony Bellew wasn't having any of it.
Whilst the other stars listened and wept, when Tony was presented with a video from his wife, he slammed the laptop down.
He then attempted to remove the battery as the sound continued.
Placing his hands over his ears, Tony shouted: "Good try you f****, la la la la la."
Whilst it may have first appeared like an outburst, it was revealed that the former boxer had actually made the correct decision not to listen to the recording.
One of the instructors revealed the worst thing you can do is hear from your family before going into a mission, as it can reduce your focus on the task.
The contestants were actually being tested on their psychological ability to refuse the message from home - and Tony was the only one who resisted the temptation.
