'Sarri-ball back to London' - Chelsea fans react as Maurizio Sarri linked with Arsenal job

Chelsea fans have been reacting to reports former boss Maurizio Sarri could be set to take over at Arsenal.

Reports in Italy today have claimed Sarri is on the list of candidates to replace Gunners boss Mikel Arteta if the Spaniard cannot turn things around at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have endured a disappointing start to the campaign, currently sitting 14th in the Premier League after 10 games and picking up only 13 points.

That sort of form has seen Arteta come under pressure and while the Spaniard will likely get more time to turn things around with Arsenal in a transition period, he will need to show some progress in results if he wants to keep his job.

If he fails to do that, it's said Sarri could step in what would be his second job in London following a spell with Chelsea across the 2018/2019 season.

Sarri joined the Blues in the summer of 2018, taking over from Antonio Conte, who was sacked just one day before his fellow countryman's arrival.

During his spell at Stamford Bridge, Sarri did manage to achieve European success with Chelsea winning the Europa League in 2019 and also securing a third place finish in the Premier League.

The much-talked-about 'Sarri-ball' divided opinion at Stamford Bridg and that's something Arsenal may now be looking at if things go wrong for Arteta, who promises a much more expansive brand of football.

Chelsea fans have been reacting to the reports on social media. Here is what they have had to say.

Sarri has had another job since his Chelsea departure after just one season due to his desire to return to Italy. The 61-year-old took over Juventus in Serie A after leaving the capital.

He only spent one year with Juventus, too, getting the sack after crashing out of the Champions League at the Round of 16 stage in August. He did, however, manage to win Serie A last season.
