Head of Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez al-Sarraj has ordered the evacuation of two military camps in the capital Tripoli and transfer them to civil authorities affiliated with his UN-backed government.

Sarraj visited on Sunday the army camp in Suani Road, and ordered to evacuate it within 72 hours and hand it over to the Social Development Fund.

He also gave orders to transfer the military police to another camp, stressing that his instructions apply to all camps in Tripoli.

He claimed that the lands occupied by the camps should be used for the establishment of civilian facilities in vital sectors, such as health and education, to benefit all citizens.

UN Special Envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame, while speaking to representatives of Tarhuna city, stressed that "since the ceasefire agreement, Tripoli's security has improved."

He further added that "things don't change overnight but we see progress."

"We are holding the National Conference so that Libyans can decide their election date, the constitutional framework, the mechanism to distribute resources and more. These recommendations will be taken to the Security Council who will push for their implementation," Salame explained.

Tripoli's suburbs witnessed clashes, end of August, between the forces loyal to the GNA and the 7th Brigade from Tarhuna. The fighting resulted in the death of more than 100 and the injury of around 500.

The UN mediated and succeeded in reaching a ceasefire agreement between the two sides.

Further, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack on Tazirbu, in a statement on Amaq, and said that 29 people had been either killed or wounded.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemned Saturday the attack on the Tezirbu police station.
