US politician Sarah Palin has said she would like to be Energy Secretary under Donald Trump – in order to scrap the role.
Speaking in an interview with CNN, Ms Palin was asked if she would consider a cabinet position under the controversial businessman if he is successful in his bid for the US presidency.
She said: "I think a lot about the Department of Energy and if I were head of that, I’d get rid of it and I’d let the states start having more control.
"So if I were in charge of that, it’d be a short term job but it would be really great to have someone who knows energy, and is pro-responsible development, to be in charge."

The former governor of Alaska unsuccessfully ran for the position of vice-president in 2008. She has been vocal in her support of Donald Trump.
In the same interview, she responded to controversy between Trump and Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush after the latter was asked a question in Spanish and replied in the language. Palin supported Trump’s remarks disparaging Bush for doing so, she said: “When you’re here, let’s speak American.”
Trump is currently topping polls of the Republican Party candidates; with 30 per cent support.
