There is something truly timeless about glass-front kitchen cabinets. Accessible, chic, and versatile, these transparent shelving units are a staple in a variety of aesthetics, from organic modern to farmhouse.
Sarah Michelle Gellar is a proponent of the trend, as seen on her Instagram page. Her wood and glass cabinets display bowls, coffee cups, and tumblers, which act as decor in the otherwise minimalist space.
The combination of natural wood and smooth, rich, marble countertops creates a harmonious space, while the glass on the cabinets complements the marble's cooling elements. It's practical yet aesthetically pleasing, and has me fully convinced that this is a kitchen trend that will be around for years to come.

According to experts, including glass fronts on your cabinets is a fantastic DIY project, particularly if you want to transition existing cabinets to become more accessible.
'Removing the centre panel of a cabinet door and inserting glass or Perspex can add transparency and lighten the whole look,' explains Karl Openshaw, an interior design expert and creative director at Blocc Interiors. 'It’s a technique often used to modernise classic furniture shapes.'
Karl also says that glass-fronted cabinets are a great way to create more dimension and dynamics in the kitchen and beyond.
'Professional interiors are all about contrast and balance,' he continues. 'The same rules apply when repurposing furniture. Combining unexpected materials can make a piece feel more resolved.'
He goes on to say that incorporating new materials into old furniture and fixtures is one of the best ways to make a kitchen feel fresh and exciting again, no matter how long it's been since you've renovated.
'Simple swaps, like replacing wooden handles with polished brass, chrome, or matte black versions, can dramatically change how a piece feels,' he explains.
Whether you're looking to spruce up your cabinets or simply want to keep your cereal bowls within your sight line, glass-front cabinets are the move.
