Sarah Lancashire's unique gift for Happy Valley co-stars sees fans rush to buy same item

The thoughtful gift Happy Valley's Sarah Lancashire gifted her co-star has been revealed and fans are in love.

Sarah plays Sergeant Catherine Cawood in the BBC soap, which aired its finale on Sunday almost ten years after it premiered.

It has been revealed that the actress visited The Yorkshire Soap Company while filming for the show and decided to create a candle for her pals.

"Some of you may know #HappyValley is set in our Home Town of Hebden Bridge and filmed across the wonderful county of Yorkshire!" the company's official page shared along with a picture of the special Happy Valley candle.

"Whilst filming in town we had the pleasure of welcoming the amazing Sarah Lancashire into our shop, and over the summer of 2022 we worked together on a special gift from her to the entire cast and crew for wrapping the final season. A very Yorkshire Happy Valley Candle."

They continued: "During this time she donated to us, the police hat and shoulder numbers from season 3 that went on to raise an amazing £4500 at a charity event organised by The Halifax Ukrainian Club.

"She deserves every award possible for her work on this brilliant series, and like the whole country, we'll be glued to the tv this Sunday for the final episode!"

Fans loved the idea of a Happy Valley candle and immediately rushed to the comment section.

"Can we purchase these ??" one keen user questioned while another added: "Oh my goodness. PLEASE can you sell this. A can guarantee a lot of people would buy it immediately."

One user complimented Sarah: "That is just the loveliest thing for her to do. A lot of TV shows have leaders, who know it's their job to be the person who sets an example for the company.

"It is always the most classy person who does that, and she fits that bill. Gorgeous, kind human being. Good work, Sarge."

After the finale, viewers finally found out the fate of murderer Tommy Lee Royce ( James Norton ) and retiring police officer Catherine Cawood.

Millions watched as Norton's character set fire to himself and burned to death after clashing one last time with police officer Cawood.

The finale finally aired over the weekend (BBC Screen Grab)

Discussing the ending of his character for the first time, Norton said: "The ending was sort of perfect, in a Sally Wainwright(writer) sort of way.

"It was fireworks but it wasn’t fireworks. It was sitting over a kitchen table and that is where Happy Valley really thrived. That’s the heart of the whole show. Cups of tea over kitchen tables in kitchens in Yorkshire.

"It’s not a big stunt set pieces on wires and jumping off cliffs, and guns and fireworks. It’s gentle, it’s domestic, it’s human."
