Sarah Jessica Parker teases filming for second season of Sex and the City spin off And Just Like That...

Sex and the City fans rejoice as it seems Sarah Jessica Parker has hinted that filming for season two of the successful romantic comedy-drama show's spin off, And Just Like That..., has begun - causing a flurry of excitement from viewers across the globe.

The spin-off, which first aired on December 9, 2021, 17 years after Sex and the City ended, follows three of the original four characters - Carrie (played by SJP), Miranda and Charlotte - with its fourth, Samantha played by Kim Catrall, absent from the show - as they navigate their relationships, whether it be love, friendship or professional, 20 years on from the 90s show, with the trio now in their 50s.

And while And Just Like That...'s first series received mixed criticism, with many of its episodes being described as 'awkward' and 'clunky', die-hard SATC buffs can't wait for Season 2 to hit their screens - even more so now with Sarah Jessica Parker's cryptic post.

Taking to Instagram, the Hollywood star - who will also be appearing in Disney +'s much-anticipated upcoming Hocus Pocus 2 later this month - wrote: "@justlikethatmax Just this much. For now. X, SJ" which accompanied an image of a page which read "AND JUST LIKE THAT... Episode 201".

With almost 300,000 likes on the post, it seems the joy for the show's return is tremendous, as starlets and regular folk alike were quick to comment on the post.

Welsh actor, podcast host and LGBTQ+ activist Scott McGlynn wrote: "More to come how exciting can’t wait".

Spooks actress Lisa Faulkner added: "Can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!!", while Emily in Paris star Lily Collins commented with a series of love heart, party popper and raised hand emojis.

And although many of the comments elicited glee, some were pleading for this season to be "better than the last" with a few yearning for the return of Kim Cattrall.

One viewer said: "Please in this season bring back @kimcattrall back", while another wrote: "Love you but please make this season better! Last season was painful!"

While it's unknown whether Samantha will in fact make her long-awaited return for season 2, we do know that Carrie's old flame and big love from the original show, Aiden, will.

The release date for the show, which aired on Sky Comedy and Now TV in the UK, has not yet been unveiled but it is hoped that it will be dropping in December - much like the first series.
