Sarah Jessica Parker reveals she’s adopted Carrie Bradshaw’s And Just Like That cat

Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed she’s adopted her furry And Just Like That co-star after filming ended.

The actress explained on Instagram that she gave her character Carrie Bradshaw’s rescue kitten, Shoe, a forever home when the cameras stopped rolling on the second season of the Sex and the City spin-off.

Sharing a string of adorable photos of the cat, SJP revealed that she had given the feline a moniker: “His off-camera name is Lotus.

“He and his siblings were all given botanical names when they were rescued as newborns by the @cthumanesociety.

“Adopted officially by the Parker/Broderick family in April 2023. He joins Remy and Smila who we adopted in May 2022,” she continued.

“If he looks familiar, that’s because he is. X, SJ.”

After sharing her sweet post, the TV star was inundated with messages commenting on her family’s new furry addition.

Parker’s AJLT co-star Kristin Davis wrote: “Love home so much [sic].”

American broadcaster Katie Couric commented: “He’s SO cute” while Michelle Pfeiffer penned: “Awww…what a cutie!”.

A fan also remarked: “Lotus is perfection. Thank you for giving him a loving home!”

“Shoe!!! What a star! So happy to see y’all stayed together as a family!” another commented. “I love that the kitten our your show also your kitten in real life.”

Fans of the show may be seeing a lot more of Shoe in the near future after it was announced that And Just Like That was renewed for a third season.

The revival features original stars Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, David Eigenberg, Mario Cantone, and many more.

In a statement announcing the renewal earlier this month, Max’s Head of Original Content Sarah Aubrey, said: “As we approach the highly anticipated season finale on Thursday, we raise our cosmos to [showrunner] Michael Patrick King and his magnificent team of writers, producers, cast and crew who continue to charm us, 25 years later, with dynamic friendships and engaging stories.’

Aubrey added: “We cannot wait for audiences to see where season three will take our favourite New Yorkers.”

Meanwhile, Michael Patrick King said: “We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors.”

However, the renewal news wasn’t positively met by all viewers, with some branding the show’s storylines “trash” on social media.
