Sarah Harding on death and how she wanted a 'great big f*** off party to say goodbye'

Sarah Harding, who has tragically died from cancer aged 39, wanted one last party before the end.

The much-loved singer, who shot to fame on ITV's Popstars knew she wouldn't make Christmas, but said she wanted to celebrate with her friends and family "one last time."

In her memoir, Hear Me Out, Sarah revealed her cherished dream.

"What I'd really like to do is to see everyone — all my friends, all together. One last time," she wrote.

"Then I'd throw a great big f*** off party as a way to say thank you and goodbye.

"Wouldn't that be amazing?"

The blonde bombshell, who grew up in the north west of England, was known for her love of partying, which at one point earned her the nickname 'Hardcore Harding'.

Sarah first revealed her cancer diagnosis via a social media post in August 2020.

In a selfie taken from her hospital bed she said: "There's no easy way to say this and actually it doesn't even feel real writing this, but here goes.

"Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body."

Just over a year later Sarah's mum broke the sad news of her daughter's death today on Instagram.

She wrote: “It’s with deep heartbreak that today I’m sharing the news that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away. Many of you will know of Sarah’s battle with cancer and that she fought so strongly from her diagnosis until her last day.

"She slipped away peacefully this morning. I’d like to thank everyone for their kind support over the past year. It meant the world to Sarah and it gave her great strength and comfort to know she was loved. I know she won’t want to be remembered for her fight against this terrible disease – she was a bright shining star and I hope that’s how she can be remembered instead.”
