Sarah Harding and Cheryl ended feud and healed rift before heartbreaking cancer news

Sarah Harding and Cheryl ended their feud and put the past behind them before the singer's heartbreaking cancer news today.

Cheryl was the first member of Girls Aloud to rally around Sarah, 38, after she went public with her breast cancer diagnosis.

The singer took to Twitter to share a broken heart emoji minutes after her former bandmate shared a selfie from her hospital bed.

Nadine Coyle has since followed by posting a comment on Sarah's Instagram message.

The singer wrote: "I love you!!!! You have always been able to achieve miracles when needed!!

"I am here for the all the way & always will be!!!"

Sarah and Cheryl haven't always seen eye-to-eye, but they have healed the rift in recent years.

The pair were believed to have grown apart since the band's split in 2013, with Cheryl failing to publicly support her pal during her stint in Celebrity Big Brother in 2017.

However, they later seemed to make it clear there was no bad blood between them with a sweet Twitter exchange in September of that year.

Sarah posted a message to Cheryl, declaring her single Fight For This Love will always be her favourite.

She wrote: "Hey stranger!... U know FFTL will always be the one #TrueToTheGame" adding a thumbs up emoji and blowing a kiss.

Cheryl replied with a winky face, adding: "#alwaystrue".

Sarah went public with her health battle today, breaking two years of social media silence.

She explained she had been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and the disease has spread throughout her body.

The singer shared a selfie from her hospital bed and wrote: "Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body.

"I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and I am fighting as hard as I possibly can."

She went on to thank her family and friends and the doctors and nurses who have been looking after her.
