Sarah Fergusson, the Duchess of York, starts a historical romance book club

The Duchess of York, Sarah Fergusson is an avid reader and an author. She has penned the Little Red book series for children, and more recently published her debut historical romance novel 'Her Heart for a Compass' which was released in August 2021. Taking her love for books a step-ahead, Sarah Fergusson has now launched her historical romance book club with her publisher Mills and Boons.

Launched on November 5, the Duchess of York will select one Mills & Boon historical romance novel each month for her followers. She will share her book of the month on her social media accounts and discuss the book with fellow readers. Sarah Fergusson has picked 'The Earl Who Sees Her Beauty' by Marguerite Kaye as her first book club read for this month.

Talking about the development, the Duchess said, "I am so excited to launch a historical romance book club with my publisher Mills & Boon. Like them, I’m passionate about telling women’s stories, giving those who have been silenced a voice and promoting women’s literacy. Too often, women’s lives can be overlooked by history. In my debut novel 'Her Heart for a Compass', I brought one such woman—my great-great-aunt Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas-Scott—to life. Now I want to celebrate other authors who are telling women’s stories."

It's noted that the Duchess' debut historical romance novel titled 'Her Heart for a Compass', was co-authored by Marguerite Kaye. Her second historical romance novel is expected to be published in 2022 and it will "build on the world of 'Her Heart for a Compass'", according to Mills and Boons.

Meanwhile, in a series of videos 'Storytime with Fergie and Friends', the Duchess also reads stories to children every day on her official YouTube channel. Isn't that a wonderful initiative to encourage readers of all age groups to read?
