Sarah Ferguson shares first post after Princess Beatrice's secret wedding

Sarah Ferguson has shared her first post on Instagram after it was revealed her daughter, Princess Beatrice, was married at Windsor Castle on Friday morning.

A palace statement confirmed that Beatrice tied the knot with Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a small intimate ceremony at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor.

Despite spending the day celebrating her daughter's wedding, it was business as usual for Fergie as she promoted her latest venture hours after the ceremony.

She wrote: "Today at 4pm on @storytimewithfergieandfriends I am going to be drawing Baby Elephants with @davidwilliampress and my guest friend is @mark.lisk #storytimewithfergieandfriends #childrensbooks #books #stories."

It's likely that Fergie had pre-recorded her post though, giving her chance to spend the weekend with her family after the celebrations.

As expected, fans of Sarah and her daughters were quick to comment on the post in their droves as they wished the bride and groom well.

One said: "Congratulations to your daughter Princess Beatrice and Edo. Soo lovely to hear some good news for a change. I hope you all have a beautiful day."

Another added: "Many congratulations on the wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo. Wonderful news. You must be very pleased."

A third went on: "Congratulations to your family and especially Beatrice on her wedding to Edo. All that matters is the marriage not everything else and she has done it her way. Fantastic news."

Beatrice's parents Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew as well as sister Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brookbank are believed to have celebrated the couple.

Edo’s son Christopher, known as Wolfie, was supposed to be his 'mini' best man, so it’s assumed he was present.

The groom’s parents Nikki Shale and Alex Mapelli Mozzi, who are divorced, attended and it’s thought Nikki’s new husband David Williams-Ellis may have joined her.

Details are beginning to trickle out about the big day, with Beatrice thought to have worn her original dress that was picked for the planned ceremony in May.

While the exact details of the bride’s dress remain unknown, the Daily Mail reports she opted for the dress she originally planned to wear for her May wedding.

And fashion expert Melita Latham has shared some insight as to what the gown was probably like.

She told the Express that Beatrice’s ‘rebel nature’ is never far from the surface. She said: “I would expect her bridal outfit to be veiled, ball-gown, quite lacy style.

"We should expect a lustrous fabric, dress, rich in detail with possibly rather more colour than you would expect at a royal wedding.”

Her sister Princess Eugenie had a thistle for Scotland on her dress, a Shamrock for Ireland, the York Rose, and ivy for Ivy Cottage, to represent the couple's home.

It wouldn't be a surprise if Beatrice had the York Rose somewhere in her own dress.

Meanwhile, Beatrice recruited her grandmother’s favourite florist to create her bouquet.
