Sarah Ferguson has expressed her gratitude for a “year of goodness” for her family.
In an Instragram post, the Duchess of York expressed the message alongside a picture of her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.
The pair are smiling broadly, alongside their father Prince Andrew and Eugenie's husband Jack Brooksbank.
The 59-year-old, often known as Fergie, wrote: “Happy happy times this holiday season and big New Year celebrations .. thank you for such a year of goodness to my family.”
Her followers responded with a range of heartfelt messages following the post.
One said: “Congratulations on your extraordinary year! Keep inspiring the world.”
Others described the photo as “beautiful” and “lovely”.
It has been a busy year for that section of the Royal Family, with a particular highlight being Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
More than three million people tuned in to television coverage of the big day.
The mother-of-the-bride Sarah Ferguson, beamed and waved at crowds as she attended the ceremony, in a green dress and matching hat.
On the day she was commended for her outfit and described by Piers Morgan as his “favourite royal”.
She also attended a number of other Royal events this year, including Prince Charles’ birthday celebrations.
