Sarah Ferguson charity closes down after Epstein revelations

  • Sarah Ferguson 's charity , Sarah's Trust, has formally closed down, with its status now marked as 'removed' on the public register of charities.
  • The decision to close the charity was announced in February, days after new revelations emerged about her friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein .
  • Documents released by the US Department of Justice indicated Ms Ferguson visited Epstein with her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, shortly after his release from prison in 2009.
  • Email exchanges from 2009 showed Ms Ferguson referring to Epstein as 'the brother I have always wished for' and seeking £20,000 for rent after a business venture failed.
  • Sarah's Trust, launched in 2020, provided aid for NHS, care home, and hospice staff during the Covid pandemic and sent computers to Ukrainian refugees.
