Sarah Everard: Hat 'found' in a bush as desperate search for missing woman continues

A hat has reportedly been found in the search for missing 33-year-old Sarah Everard.

A passer-by found the cream wool hat similar to the one Ms Everard was wearing when she went missing on Wednesday.

It was discovered at around 11am in a bush on Clapham Common - near where the marketing executive was last seen, Sky News reports.

Police are scouring the South London district for clues today, inspecting ponds, a railway station and other places today.

The Met earlier received a report that Ms Everard had been spotted at Clapham Junction train station, however officers failed to find her there, MyLondon reports.

A spokesman for the force said: “There was a report of a sighting at Clapham Junction station yesterday. Officers carried out a search of the area – but unfortunately Sarah wasn’t found.”

The missing woman was last seen walking between Clapham Junction and Brixton in London at 9pm on Wednesday.

No-one has heard from her since she had a 15-minute call with her partner which ended at around 9.30pm.

Her loved ones insist she did not disappear deliberately.

Rose Woollard, one of Ms Everard's university pals, told MailOnline: "When my mum passed away she rang me every day.

"She's really caring, thoughtful and never has a bad word to say about anyone ever.

"It couldn't have happened to a nicer person. This has never happened before.

"I spoke to her earlier that day, she was fine. We talked about how boring our days have been. I think she was dealing with lockdown like we all are."

The teacher said she knew her friend had not 'taken herself off anywhere'.
