Sarah Burton Unveils First Givenchy Campaign: A New Era of Elegance and Humanity

Givenchy has officially unveiled its first campaign under the creative leadership of Sarah Burton, and it's a powerful statement about the future of the brand. Instead of focusing solely on polished imagery, the campaign celebrates authenticity, collaboration, and the women who inspire Burton both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

Shot by photographer Collier Schorr with creative direction from Ferdinando Verderi, the campaign captures unscripted moments of laughter, reflection, and connection. Models Adut Akech, Vittoria Ceretti, Kaia Gerber, Nyaduola Gabriel, Eva Herzigova, Emeline Hoareau, and Liu Wen bring the designs to life, while Burton's longtime creative partners—including stylist Camilla Nickerson, makeup artist Lucia Pieroni, hair stylist Olivier Schawalder, and casting director Jess Hallett—were intentionally included in the project. For Burton, the story of Givenchy is as much about the community behind the clothes as it is about the finished image.

The looks themselves reflect the balance that has quickly defined Burton's Givenchy: sculptural tailoring, layered leather, and fluid evening dresses that exude both power and softness. A standout moment is the "makeup compact" dress—an instantly iconic design that merges couture precision with playful sensuality, a nod to the rituals of beauty that resonate with women everywhere.

The tone of this campaign signals a sharp departure from Matthew Williams's stark, digitally raw era. Burton introduces warmth, intimacy, and emotion, crafting visuals that feel spontaneous and human rather than distant and detached. This approach transforms Givenchy into a house that not only celebrates luxury but also embraces inclusivity and shared creativity.

Burton's debut collection, shown earlier this year during Paris Fashion Week, was praised for its refinement and connection to the brand's heritage. Tailored suits, precise silhouettes, and archival inspiration showcased her respect for Givenchy's DNA, while her softer narrative voice gave the maison a refreshed perspective.

Now, this first campaign solidifies her vision: Givenchy under Sarah Burton is a story of timeless elegance told through real relationships and emotional depth. It's more than fashion—it's an invitation to see beauty in collaboration, authenticity, and the human stories that shape luxury.
