Saracens chief claims club ready to dominate Europe ahead of Munster tie

Mark McCall warns that Saracens are ready to conquer Europe again after falling to eventual champs Leinster last year.

Sarries were looking to complete a Champions Cup treble when they came up against the unstoppable Blues in Dublin.

But supremo McCall reckons that setback has only made them stronger and they are unbeaten in Europe this season heading into the semi-final with Munster.

"It was tough, losing in the quarter-final, we deserved to be beaten," he said. "Leinster were outstanding last year.

We know that Munster, Leinster and Ulster all have great affinity with this competition and over the last six or seven years our squad have also fallen in love with the competition.

Peter O'Mahony believes Munster are well equipped to end Champions Cup heartache

"But it made our group, after winning the two finals the two years before that, really hungry to do well this season.

"We had a good pool campaign, had a decent win in the quarter-final but we know we're up against something entirely different with Munster and the following that's going to come to Coventry this weekend."

McCall, who confirms he will have Billy Vunipola available despite the back row's publicly-expressed support for Israel Folau, believes the Sarries are in an altogether better place now.

The Ulsterman said: “It was funny last year, when got to that quarter-final, Ireland were off the back of winning Grand Slam and England were off the back of a difficult season.

"So both groups of players came back with different frames of mind.

“We had some players who weren't around for that Leinster match - Billy, Michael Rhodes, Vincent Koch and a few others.

“We're a bit healthier now. We've more or less got the squad that we want available.

“I think we're in a better frame of mind than we were last year".
