Sara Cox 'heartbroken' as brother suddenly dies from underlying heart condition

Sara Cox is grieving the loss of her older brother David, who suddenly passed away on December 6.

The 45-year-old radio DJ has been left "heartbroken" after her sibling died at Whitehaven hospital, in Cumbria after suffering from an underlying heart condition.

A source shared with The Sun: “He died so suddenly, Sara is absolutely heartbroken. The whole family has been really shaken by the death.”

David lived near Bolton in the town of Little Lever where he grew up alongside his famous sister.

An announcement in the Bolton News newspaper read: “Beloved partner to Linda, a loving son, father, brother, uncle and dear friend to many. Sadly missed.”

The family held a funeral on December 23 at St. George's Church Chorley which was followed by a private committal at Charnock Richard Crematorium.

Following David's passing they are raising money for the British Heart Foundation.

They are asking for donations on justgiving.com, a message on the fund raising page reads: "Thank you for visiting David's fundraising page.

"David passed away suddenly on 6 December 2019, due to an unknown underlying heart condition.

"The British Heart Foundation raises money to fund life saving medicines and research. We are therefore raising money in David's memory and donating it to this worthy cause.
