New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley was a phenom in 2018, compiling over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 15 total touchdowns en route to the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
Barkley was so productive and his ceiling is considered so high that Michael Fabiano of NFL Network already projects the running back to be the top fantasy football option in 2019 (based on a PPR scoring system).
Barkley checks in at No. 1 just ahead of Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott and Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley, but he’s not the only Giant to make the cut.
In addition to Barkley, Fabiano projects wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. at No. 15 overall (WR6), tight end Evan Engram at No. 98 overall (TE9) and wide receiver Sterling Shepard at No. 103 overall (WR43).
A lot can change between now and the 2019 regular season, but as things sit, Barkley at No. 1 overall is an incredible testament to what many experts anticipate from him next season and beyond.
