New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley’s father is in a tough spot for this Sunday’s game between the Giants and New York Jets.
The elder Barkley is a huge Jets fans and his son is the biggest name on the Giants these days.
Alibay Barkley, who has a Jets tattoo on his left forearm, will be wearing a replica Joe Namath jersey and apparently rooting for both teams. The jersey was a gift from Saquon several years ago.
Alibay has been a Jets fan for many years. The Barkley family lived in the Bronx when Saquon was born and moved to Pennsylvania when he was young. Barkley’s great uncle is former boxing champion Iran Barkley.
“That’s going to be an interesting one,” Barkley told reporters on Thursday. “Is he going to root for the Jets, yes. But he’s going to root for the Giants and his son…He gets the best of both worlds. He gets to watch his team he grew up rooting for and watch his son live his dream.”
