Coming on the heels of the College Football 26 cover reveal last week, we get the Madden NFL 26 cover reveal to start off this week. Saquon Barkley is fresh off a Super Bowl win, contract extension, and historic 2024-25 regular season, and now he gets to add Madden cover athlete to the credentials.
It probably did not hurt his chances that EA patched in the Saquon spin hurdle in last year’s game. It’s very rare for EA to do something like that, and it’s a sign he was an obvious contender to make the cover for ’26. This also means Jags fans can rejoice since they’re also technically on this cover now — Madden NFL 96 is no longer their only claim to cover athlete fame!
EA is set to reveal the “new features” for Madden NFL 26 on Wednesday. We’ve heard some rumblings about franchise mode being a focus, and EA is touting “signature QB tendencies, unique coaching schemes, and game-changing weather” among the fresh additions. We’ll need to wait and see what any of that means — and don’t expect all the answers on Wednesday either — but it’s certainly time for the hype train to start rolling down the tracks.
Madden NFL 26 will launch in its comfortable August spot, this time launching on August 14. By ordering one of the “premium” versions of the game, this means you would get access three days earlier on August 11.
We’ll be back later this week with more news once EA starts the drip feed on June 4.
