Actress Saoirse Ronan spoke of the sexist behaviour she has encountered in the film industry.
The Oscar nominated star revealed how she’d be talked over during conversations on set.
The 25-year-old said: “Talking over you – I’m not really into that. When someone calls you a little lady or an angel – I’m not into that either.”
The Mary Queen of Scots star added that she had recently worked with a couple of “incredibly chauvinistic” people.

But at the same time she also said she was “very, very lucky” that she’d also been around people who were very supportive and encouraged her to speak up and ask questions.
Speaking to the students in Scoil Chaitríona in Glasnevin, Dublin she said: “You could be on a film set every single day and know the story inside and out and you’re going to ask a question about the next camera set-up with the director, and the cinematographer will be talking over you, and won’t stop talking. And I’d be: sorry, can you just? I was just in the middle of?’

"It has only happened a handful of times but it does happen, and it is a bit mind-blowing when it does.”
She also advised students to be careful on social media and said that she wasn’t on Facebook anymore.
She added: “I think it’s really easy to pass judgment on people when you’re sitting on your phone. It’s important to remember everyone is going through their own stuff."
