Santorini and Zakynthos quarantine update as islands to be added to England's travel corridor list

Lesvos, Santorini, Serifos and Zakynthos are to be added to the government's travel corridor list this weekend.

From Saturday, October 10 at 4am, tourists and residents arriving in England from one of those Greek islands may not need to self-isolate.

If you arrive in England from any of these islands before 4am on October 10, you will need to self-isolate. Greece is currently on the travel corridor list.

The travel corridor is a list of countries, territories and regions from where you can travel to England without having to self-isolate upon return.

Countries and territories can be added or removed from the travel corridor list at any time as travel advice remains ever changing while the coronavirus pandemic continues.

The government usually updates its travel corridor list every Thursday. No countries have been removed from the list this week.

Transport Secretary Grant Schapps tweeted the update this afternoon.

He said: "TRAVEL CORRIDOR UPDATE: We are ADDING Lesvos, Tinos, Serifos, Santorini and Zakynthos to the #TravelCorridor list this week.

"From 4am Saturday 10th Oct, if you arrive from those Greek islands, you will NO LONGER need to self-isolate. We are not REMOVING any countries."
