Santiago Moreno is reportedly on Rangers ’ transfer radar this summer.
The Colombian winger’s performances in his first season as a top team player at America de Cali have caught the attention of clubs across Europe.
The wide man has scored five times in 22 appearances and managed one assist. Moreno can play anywhere across the front three although is more often utilised as a right winger.
And the Telegraph reports that the Scottish Premiership champions are interested, although face competition from Leeds United and Southampton.
However, the carrot of Champions League football could swing any decision in Rangers’ favour.
Moreno’s style has been compared to that of Liverpool star Sadio Mane, who has been a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s success since making the move to Anfield from Southampton.
Steven Gerrard has already secured striker Fashion Sakala and midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh for next season’s defence of the title.
However, he could face a battle to hold on to some of his big names.
Leeds’ search for a winger has already seen them have a bid rejected for Ryan Kent last summer but they could try and tempt Rangers again with a big money offer.
Moreno's compatriot Alfredo Morelos has also been linked with a move away after Lille tried and failed to sign him last year.
Veteran front man Jermain Defoe is out of contract as well with no decision as yet taken on whether he’ll be offered an extension at Ibrox.
