Santi Cazorla responds as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signs new Arsenal contract

Arsenal favourite Santi Cazorla has issued a message to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the Gunners captain penned a new three-year deal with the club.

Aubameyang's previous deal was due to expire in less than 12 months time, when he could have left on a free transfer, and fans were facing an anxious wait on an official announcement.

While it was widely reported that the Gabon forward had agreed to a new deal, supporters were eagerly awaiting the news directly from the club - and that wait came to an end on Tuesday.

Aubameyang went live on social media upon signing the deal, speaking to Ian Wright and Alexandre Lacazette live from the Emirates Stadium.

The 31-year-old later went live on his own Instagram account on Tuesday evening, where he received an abundance of messages congratulating him.

Among them was Cazorla, a teammate of Aubameyang's for half a season following the striker's arrival in January 2018 from Borussia Dortmund.

Cazorla, himself an Arsenal favourite, posted 'well done bro' to Aubameyang along with three flexing-muscle emojis - showing that he still keeps close tabs on the Gunners.

The Spanish midfielder moved to Villarreal in 2018 on a free transfer, bringing an end to six years in England and making a miraculous return from injury.

He now plays with Qatari side Al-Sadd, where he has made an instant impression after scoring four goals in his opening three league matches.
