Santi Cazorla hints at Arsenal return following Mikel Arteta's appointment as new head coach

Former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has opened the door for a return to north London to work alongside former teammate Mikel Arteta.

Arteta joins a strong contingent of former players working at the club, with Freddie Ljungberg remaining as interim boss for tomorrow's clash with Everton and Edu appointed as the club's director of football in the summer.

"I will always be open to helping him because he is my friend and also because of all the things he did for me when I came to England."

Cazorla also backed Arteta to make an impact at Arsenal despite his lack of managerial experience, stating he has the ability to make the tough decisions.

"He has the personality to do so and those who think otherwise are very much mistaken," he told BBC Sport.

"He is not the sort of person who will shy away from making the most difficult and drastic decisions he might have to,"
