Santander mobile banking down as bank 'investigates'

Santander are 'investigating' an issue currently affecting their online and mobile banking.

When trying to access the app or the log on via the desktop, users are getting the message 'sorry - there seems to be a problem.'

The Santander UK customer help Twitter account @Santanderukhelp is replying to each customer query with a variation of the same message: "thanks for the tweet. We are sorry about this.

"We are aware of what is happening and are working to resolve this as soon as we can. Please try again later. Thank you."

Another official Santander reply reads: "We're aware of an issue currently affecting online and mobile banking, which we're investigating.

"We hope to restore these services as soon as possible. I'm sorry for any inconvenience."

While Santander employees have confirmed that online and mobile banking is currently down, some users are also experiencing issues trying to make online payments too.

When trying to make a payment for some people it won't process and it is coming up as 'declined'.

One customer @JosephLilley7 said: "What's up with your online banking I'm trying to order a maccies."

Another @prashantlambert said: "Payment authentications just refused, can’t log in on an app through wifi or 4G and can’t log on through a desktop either?"

A Santander employee said that they were trying to fix the problem as 'a matter of priory.'
